About your host

Karen Cryan is an olive oil taster/sommelier who has trained in London, Italy and Spain with some of the top names in extra virgin olive oil tasting. She now runs classes to teach others how to taste olive oil, as the health benefits and flavours that olive oil is renowned for can only be obtained from quality extra virgin olive oil. Karen is the first Irish associate member of the internationally recognised Savantes Extra Virgin Olive Oil organisation and has been on the judging panel for the Italian Armonia International Olive Oil competition. Last May she gave a presentation and did an olive oil tasting at the Dublin Gastronomy Symposium. The Irish Times Food File has had a number of pieces on Karen.
