Kids Saturday Kitchen with Blanca Valencia - Pizza & Pasta - Saturday 20 October 11.00am to 1.00pm

The Pizza & Pasta Class is all about making fresh food that is popular with everyone in a fun and interactive environment. Kids will learn how to make coloured pasta and even chocolate pasta. They will learn simple sauces using natural ingredients like lemons, tomatoes & herbs. Then they will create pasta nests for drying and special pasta present bags.

In the second part of the class, we will focus on pizza! The kids will learn how to make the perfect dough and how to prepare healthy vegetable Meditteranean toppings from Italy & Spain.
We encourage participants to bring tupperware with them so that they can take home what they've prepared.

 

Here are a sample of some of the dishes the kids will learn to make:

Spinach pasta, cocoa pasta, plain pasta

Lemon  Zest & Parmesan cream sauce

Tomato & Butter sauce

Pesto

Pizza

Mallorcan Vegetable Topping

Chicken and vegetable Topping

 

About Your Host

Blanca Valencia is originally from Bilbao in Northern Spain and trained at the Cordon Bleu in London with a Diploma in Pastry and Cooking. She has worked at cook schools in Madrid, Chicago and London and has lived and worked across Latin America, China and Europe, exploring their cuisines and food cultures in depth. She has also worked with leading food producers and has written about food for magazines and periodicals on both sides of the Atlantic. Her speciality and real love is reserved for Spanish and Latin American cooking (think Mexican, Peruvian and Argentinian). She regularly hosts workshops at the Cervantes Institute. She now lives in Dublin with her husband and two girls.
